Small Change To Your Prescription Collection

From March 2026, a minor operational update is being introduced to the Prescription Collection Courier Service. While the overall process remains unchanged, pharmacies should be aware of a small adjustment at the point of collection.
From Thursday, 19th March 2026, there will be a small change to the Prescription Collection Courier Service, run by Community Pharmacy Scotland and operated by Royal Mail / Parcelforce.
What’s changing?
The Royal Mail / Parcelforce driver will bring a label with them at the time of collection
The driver must attach the label to the prescription bag while on the pharmacy premises
No other part of the collection process is changing
Please contact Community Pharmacy Scotland if:
You need additional prescription bags
A driver arrives without identification or a label
The courier does not arrive
Please continue to:
Use two bags if you have more than 6,000 forms
Secure prescriptions tightly with rubber bands before placing them in the bags
Keep stock orders and PC70s separate from prescription forms
