Small Change To Your Prescription Collection

Published: 12th March 2026

From March 2026, a minor operational update is being introduced to the Prescription Collection Courier Service. While the overall process remains unchanged, pharmacies should be aware of a small adjustment at the point of collection.

From Thursday, 19th March 2026, there will be a small change to the Prescription Collection Courier Service, run by Community Pharmacy Scotland and operated by Royal Mail / Parcelforce.

What’s changing?

  • The Royal Mail / Parcelforce driver will bring a label with them at the time of collection

  • The driver must attach the label to the prescription bag while on the pharmacy premises

  • No other part of the collection process is changing

Please contact Community Pharmacy Scotland if:

  • You need additional prescription bags

  • A driver arrives without identification or a label

  • The courier does not arrive

Please continue to:

  • Use two bags if you have more than 6,000 forms

  • Secure prescriptions tightly with rubber bands before placing them in the bags

  • Keep stock orders and PC70s separate from prescription forms

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us on 0131 467 7766 and we’ll be happy to help.
