Finding The Right Care

Published: 10th September 2026

Over recent weeks we have seen a growing number of enquiries from members of the public asking us to provide the NHS PFS service, with the pattern most pronounced in the evenings and at weekends.

If you are a member of the public you can find your local community pharmacy here: https://www.nhs24.scot/find-a-service/pharmacies/

People searching online for "Pharmacy First Scotland" land on cps.scot, (Community Pharmacy Scotland) and the name does not make it obvious that we are the representative body for contractors rather than a service provider. When their own pharmacy is closed, we are the next thing they find.

If you are a patient looking for any community pharmacy service, the message is the same in every case: these services are delivered by community pharmacies not us, patients should visit any community pharmacy, there is no appointment needed, and when pharmacies are closed they should call NHS 24 on 111.
