Digital PVG Applications for Pharmacy Teams

Published: 27th August 2026

Since November 2024, all Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) applications have been required to be submitted digitally through Disclosure Scotland. Pharmacy teams are reminded to use the CPS online PVG application process for all new applications and securely destroy any remaining paper application forms.

Since 18th November 2024, Disclosure Scotland has required all Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) applications to be completed digitally. To support this process, Community Pharmacy Scotland provides an online PVG application form through our website. Once completed, the application is countersigned by CPS and submitted electronically to Disclosure Scotland for processing.

As paper PVG application forms are no longer accepted, we would ask all pharmacy teams to check their premises for any remaining paper application packs. Any paper forms that are still held in the pharmacy should be securely destroyed. Using the online process helps ensure applications are completed using the correct format and can be processed without unnecessary delays.

If you need to submit a new PVG application, please visit our PVG webpage and complete the online application form. If you have any questions about the process, please contact us.

Action Required

Please destroy any outdated paper PVG application forms held within your pharmacy and use our online PVG application process for all future submissions.
