Avoiding Prescription Courier Collection Issues
Published: 27th August 2026
We've received a small number of enquiries about courier collections recently and wanted to share some reminders ahead of the next scheduled collection on Thursday, 3rd September 2026. Taking a few simple steps can help avoid delays, ensure prescription bags are collected correctly and minimise disruption to your pharmacy service.
We have received a small number of enquiries recently about courier collections and would like to remind pharmacy teams of a few important points to help ensure prescription bags are collected and tracked correctly.
The next scheduled prescription collection is Thursday, 3rd September 2026, so now is a good opportunity to check that you have everything in place ahead of the Royal Mail collection.
Prescription bags should only be handed to the Royal Mail representative attending the scheduled collection, and only when they arrive with the correct collection label. If Royal Mail attends without a label, please do not hand over the prescription bag and contact CPS straight away so that we can arrange a replacement collection.
We would also remind pharmacy teams not to tape or attach multiple prescription bags together under a single label. If you have a higher dispensing volume than usual and require additional labels, please contact CPS and we will arrange this for you.
If a scheduled collection is missed, labels have not been provided, or you have concerns about an upcoming collection, please let us know as soon as possible. Early notification allows us to investigate quickly and minimise any disruption.
If you require additional courier bags or collection materials, please contact us. For GP34 forms, you will need to contact your health board, you can find the information by clicking here.
As always, if you have any concerns about your courier service, please get in touch and we will be happy to help.
