PVG Scheme Members: Check Your Email Address Is Up to Date
Published: 9th July 2026
Disclosure Scotland has published its June 2026 newsletter, covering two important updates for PVG scheme members and customers.
If you are a current PVG scheme member who has not yet moved to the new five-year scheme membership, Disclosure Scotland will be contacting you in the future using the email address they hold on record.
If you did not provide an email address, or you are unsure whether you did, it is important that you get in touch now. Members should email dsupdate@disclosurescotland.gov.scot with the subject header 'Email address update', including:
name
date of birth
PVG scheme number
current email address
Disclosure Scotland will use this email address to contact members about their PVG scheme membership. If they do not receive an update directly from a member, they may contact that member's employer to obtain the information instead. Anyone without an email address should let Disclosure Scotland know of an alternative way to be contacted.
Guidance and resources for customers
Disclosure Scotland's resources page offers a range of guidance to help customers understand their legal obligations and how to use its services. This includes written guidance, short videos, pre-recorded webinars, and e-learning materials covering:
use of the PVG scheme
the disclosure application process
There is also guidance tailored to parent-run groups, sports organisations, community placement services, health services, and local authority committees.
Disclosure Scotland regularly reviews its guidance to make sure it continues to meet customer needs, so it's worth always checking the latest version on their website. Feedback on the guidance resources can be sent to Disclosure Scotland's Customer Engagement Team at customerengagement@disclosurescotland.gov.scot.
