Supporting the Wellbeing of Our Pharmacy Family

Published: 25/09/25

On world pharmacist day our colleagues at Pharmacist Support have kindly shared the following message with our members and their teams. Pharmacist Support is a well-established, independent charity supporting pharmacists and their families, former pharmacists, trainee pharmacists and pharmacy students. They provide a wide variety of free and confidential support services, including Information and Enquiries, Specialist Advice, Financial Assistance, Addiction Support, Counselling and Peer Support, and the Wardley Wellbeing Service.

On World Pharmacists Day, we celebrate the incredible dedication of pharmacists and their teams across Scotland. Your work is vital to the health of our communities, but we also recognise the very real pressures you face. Burnout and stress continue to be key challenges in our profession, as highlighted in the joint workforce wellbeing survey conducted by Pharmacist Support and the RPS.

That’s why Pharmacist Support exists. We are the profession’s independent charity, dedicated to championing the wellbeing of pharmacists, former pharmacists, trainees, and MPharm students. Our services are free, confidential, and completely independent from the workplace, offering a safe space to share sensitive or personal concerns.

We don’t just step in at times of crisis—we also provide proactive wellbeing initiatives designed to help prevent problems from escalating. From counselling and financial assistance to wellbeing workshops and campaigns like ACTNow, we’re here to ensure every member of our pharmacy family feels supported.
