MCR Ready Reckoner is Currently Offline
Published: 17/04/24

The MCR Ready Reckoner APP has been temporarily unpublished from our website due to anomalies in the data used. We are working with our colleagues at NHS National Services Scotland to review the data.
Background to the Ready Reckoner
Contractors make a monthly ‘contribution’ to a MCR Capitation Pool. Together, these contributions create a monthly pool of approximately £3,000,000. This is then redistributed back to contractors every month in the form of their MCR Capitation Payment although the sum is affected by their MCR activity. In order to ensure they get their full contribution back, they must meet a moving target of assessed MCR-registered patients. Depending on their activity contractors can lose or gain up to 10% of their contribution. Therefore, a contractor’s payment every month will lie somewhere between 90% - 110% of their contribution.
To help contractors determine if they are on track to get 100% of their contribution back this ‘MCR Ready Reckoner’ application has been created which is normally updated by CPS every Monday and made available through our website. By entering their own MCR Capitation Pool Contribution figure into the app, contractors can then see how many MCR-registered patients they must have assessed in order to get their full contribution back. For more information on Medicines Care and Review please visit our Financial Framework.
We will update members when information becomes available or when the Ready Reckoner becomes operational. If you have any questions please send them to pharmacy.services@cps.scot.
