Role Summary

We are looking for a registered pharmacy technician with community pharmacy experience to help lead our experienced team, develop their career to include clinical service provision, as well as accuracy checking of prescriptions.

The position is for up to 40 hours per week (flexible for the right candidate) and will be based at our store in Dysart, Kirkcaldy.

You will be working alongside our experienced manager and Independent prescribing pharmacist. This role would suit someone with experience in community pharmacy and will entail being directly involved in clinical services such as weight loss, travel and other vaccinations at the pharmacy. Full training for this will be provided, as well as accuracy checking qualification if needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • To work as part of a team supporting the pharmacy manager in providing excellent customer service and patient care to help grow the pharmacy business.

  • To accurately check repeat prescriptions for clinical accuracy.

  • To handle customer queries and process prescription items in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure safe supply to patients.

  • To ensure at the point of sale, the safe and correct supply of dispensed items to patients.

  • To advise patients on retail purchases of medicines and other healthcare‑related products.

  • To work as part of a team and actively demonstrate a willingness to support and achieve the overall business objectives.

Person Specification

  • Pharmacy experience or qualifications desirable (e.g. NVQ3 or equivalent) and registration with the GPHC.

  • Methodical and accurate approach to practical tasks.

  • Commitment to continuing professional development and training.

  • Trustworthy and understanding of confidentiality issues.

  • High level of concentration.

  • Strong communication and excellent customer service skills.

  • Professional, tactful and friendly attitude.

  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines.

  • Reliable.

  • Excellent teamworking skills with a positive "can‑do" attitude.

  • IT literate.

  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Ability to pass a DBS criminal record check.

Salary

£29,000.00 – £31,000.00 per year
