Share Your Experience as a Newly Qualified Independent Prescriber

Researchers at the University of Strathclyde's Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Science are seeking the views of newly qualified Pharmacist Independent Prescribers (PIPs) as part of a research study exploring the transition into prescribing practice.
The study,"You Can Prescribe, Now What?", aims to identify the enablers and barriers to developing as a pharmacist independent prescriber, as well as the support, learning opportunities and professional development needed to help new prescribers build confidence in clinical practice.
Who can take part?
The questionnaire is open to pharmacists who:
Completed their Foundation Training Year (FTY) in August 2026; and
Are newly qualified Pharmacist Independent Prescribers.
The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete, and findings will help inform future support pathways and service development for the next generation of pharmacist prescribers. Participation may also be used as evidence within professional development portfolios.

Please check with your employer before completing the questionnaire. While the research team is seeking participants' views and experiences, some questions may relate to workplace practice. You should ensure you are comfortable participating and comply with any local employer policies or requirements.
