Sarah Scott: Policy and Public Relations (PR) Pharmacist

Hi, my name is Sarah and I have joined Community Pharmacy Scotland (CPS) in the new role of Policy and Public Relations (PR) Pharmacist, having worked as a community pharmacist for the past seven years.

In this time, I have gained my Pharmacist Independent Prescribing qualification which I have used to provide the Pharmacy First Plus service, specifically focusing on common clinical conditions which has provided wider access to consultations and treatment for patients. Alongside my work as a community pharmacist, I am also Community Pharmacy Champion for the East Lothian locality, where I support pharmacies to deliver NHS services to their communities. I am also a revalidation reviewer for the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

I am a positive advocate for all areas of community pharmacy, and I am looking forward to bringing that attribute along with the skills I have gained as a community pharmacist, into this new role whilst learning and developing new skills. I am specifically looking forward to evolving the PR role through networking and engagement, whereby showcasing the invaluable work which is carried out by the community pharmacy network.

My hobbies mainly revolve around exercise, good food, and binging a new Netflix series. I also like to attempt to grow vegetables on my tiny balcony during the warmer seasons… attempt being the strong word.

Contact me if:

  1. You want to know more about community pharmacy services

  2. You have a good news story to share

  3. You have tips on how to grow vegetables successfully
