Norwegian Visitor to Edinburgh Pharmacy

Published: 16/10/25

Last week, Community Pharmacy Scotland (CPS) welcomed a visitor from Norway to Edinburgh. Birgitte Lloyd, President of the Norwegian Association of Pharmacists was in Scotland to learn more about the Scottish Community Pharmacy contract and services, as well as build on her own knowledge of Scottish culture.

Barnton Pharmacy in Edinburgh were kind enough to host Birgitte, and talk her through their working day, and range of services, with a particular emphasis on NHS Pharmacy First (Scotland) Service and Pharmacy First Plus.  Norway has a similar population and size of community pharmacy network to Scotland, and are keen to understand more around the implementation and successes of these services.

Many thanks to Leanne Carey, Glenn Davie and the Barnton team for making this visit such a success.
