Karen Gilfillan: Audit and Services Assistant

I joined Community Pharmacy Scotland as a Pharmacy Services Assistant in October 2019. I come from a Community Pharmacy background in Edinburgh. Whilst I enjoyed my role in pharmacy finding it fulfilling and a great opportunity to grow my knowledge, I had become increasingly interested in the how and why of pharmacy, the process behind the services we provided to the community, and the potential growth for the future within Community Pharmacy.

I have learned so much in my time with CPS and continue to experience more each day. I find it very rewarding to be able to use this knowledge to assist contractors with enquiries – I’ve been there myself with many of the queries that come in, and it feels good to be able to help people from this end now.

I work with the rest of the team in our monthly pricing surveys and enquiries. I also produce the Ready Reckoner weekly and am happy to assist with any payment enquiries you may have to come my way.

I am the Liaison Officer for our committee in CP Tayside.
