The Prescription Collection Courier Service that we organise for our Contractors is carried out on our behalf by Parcelforce and Royal Mail. The aim is to assist our contractors to ensure that the timescales are met, supporting timely reimbursement from Practitioner & Counter Fraud Services.
We supply an annual allocation of labelled Parcelforce courier bags to all contractors which are sent out towards the end of each year.
In the envelope containing the courier bags, you will have a copy of the Prescription Collection Dates and Parcelforce/Royal Mail Pharmacy Receipt.
If you only have one collection per month, your collections will be on the dates in bold.
Courier Guidance Notes
To reduce the chance of the Parcelforce bags bursting and prescriptions being lost/damaged on their way to P&CFS, please check out our guide which we hope will help you package them safely.
Preparing for Collection
When sealing the bag from the new allocation, check that it can be closed securely and that the bag is not overfilled. We find that it is better to use 2 bags rather than using 1 bag so that it doesn't burst open.
Remember that if you are using more than 1 bag to put a note inside both bags stating that this is 1 of 2 bags or 2 of 2 bags. If you forget you can always write this information on the front of the courier bag.
If you are using more than 1 bag for your collection, please copy the details from both bag labels. This information is very important if we need to track your prescriptions.
