3-year funding deal agreed

Tuesday, March 3, 2020

We are pleased to announce that the CPS Board have finalised a three-year funding deal, a first for the pharmacy network, with RoseMarie Parr and her team. This agreement provides stability and predictability for the community pharmacy network, Scottish Government and NHS Health Boards, allowing adequate time and space to develop and embed pharmaceutical care services. Community Pharmacy now has a real opportunity to focus on making a success of the NHS Pharmacy First service, which has been the focus of our recent membership engagement on the road, alongside developing a coherent career framework and independent prescribing strategy for community pharmacy. These opportunities, alongside the initial investment on offer, recognises the value of pharmacy teams and the network within primary care and gives a platform on which we can build. We look forward to working collaboratively with stakeholders to make this happen in the coming years.

You can read more about the deal in the SG Circular or our Key Facts document – the fine detail will follow in a separate circular in due course.
